I specifically booked Ji Hotel Suzhou Guanqian Street (Former: Suzhou Garden View Hotel) for this short trip to Suzhou. Originally, I only wanted it to be close to Pingjiang Road. When I pushed open the hotel door, I was immediately shocked - it was not an ordinary chain hotel. It was clearly a Su style garden that was moved into the lobby, and the two night stay experience completely exceeded my expectations.
The hotel is located at No. 66, Xiatang, Luoguaqiao, Lintun Road. You can walk 250 meters from Exit 2 of Lintun Road Subway Station to the entrance, and drag your luggage for two steps without taking any detours. Turn around and walk 170 meters outside to reach the Pingjiang Road Historical District. After strolling through the night view of Pingjiang Road at night, you can leisurely stroll back without having to take a taxi to catch the night road. Walking less than 100 meters to the other side is Guanqian Street. When you wake up in the morning and want to find Su style morning tea, you can go downstairs and take a turn to taste authentic squirrel mandarin fish and crab roe soup dumplings. It's only 1.5 kilometers on foot to the Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum, so you don't have to rush to visit attractions.
When checking in, the receptionist was very considerate and took the initiative to give me a handwritten guide to the surrounding area, clearly indicating which alley can avoid the crowds on Pingjiang Road and which sugar water shop is the most authentic. The deluxe big bed room I stayed in was over 20 square meters, with a clean and tidy space. The whole house was decorated with the iconic warm toned wood color of the season. The curtains hanging down from the window let in the afternoon sunshine, and the light and shadow fell on the table, resembling the gentle scenery of Suzhou's old alleys. The bedding was soft, and after lying down for a while, I took off the fatigue of wandering all day. The sound insulation was also well done, and when I closed the window, I couldn't hear the noise on the street at all. It was peaceful and easy to sleep in.
The most surprising thing is the public area of the hotel, where rockeries, flowing water, and Su style flower windows are arranged in the lobby, creating a picturesque view step by step. Walking in feels like accidentally entering a niche garden, and there is no need to specifically visit the scenic spot. Taking photos in the lobby is particularly impressive. The breakfast category is full of Suzhou characteristics. The freshly cooked Suzhou style Noodles in soup, osmanthus cakes, and fried buns taste like the old shops in the old alleys. Even the free tea is scented with osmanthus, and the taste of autumn is full of Suzhou.
I walked until the evening of the next day and came back. The front desk even offered me a cup of warm osmanthus tea, saying that I had been sweating all day and wanted to drink something warm to relieve fatigue. After staying for two nights, there were no overly fancy decorations, but the warmth of Suzhou and the thoughtfulness of the whole season were perfectly integrated. Next time I come to Suzhou, I will definitely choose Ji Hotel Suzhou Guanqian Street (Former: Suzhou Garden View Hotel)as soon as possible.Show more
